Of Art and Men !

Its somewhat of a cliché when bloggers use the names of famous novels to tone their thoughts, but seriously now that I write my own, I completely understand, how difficult it is to express thoughts in words. (especially when you type on a Laptop :-) )

Anyways, before I digress further, let me tell you why I am so excited, and why I chose to name this blog so. So I just got a brand spanking new Nikon D5000 DSLR camera for my birthday and I am so fired up! Not that I really needed it , and not that my old Nikon P5000 did not have manual controls that I had maxed out to a point that I could not expand my photographic horizons further, but because as is characteristic with men, we like things not that we have, but that we can afford. Nevertheless we do not regret a bit of it :)

So coming back to the 'title' , if you have read the book "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck; you would know what I am talking about, but for my blissful readers (pun intended) , it is about these 2 characters George and Lennie, and edification of their friendship. Lennie is supposed to be a Big man, a very strong man indeed, with less mental abilities. One thing that Steinbeck, who is a master at symbolism has characterized of men is their ability to love till it hurts. Lennie in this novel in his love and emotions forgets his strength and in that process ends up strangling many of the pets he owns in the process of loving them. So is the nature of man, wherein he seldom realizes that in his desire to like something so much he ends up destroying it unintentionally. By the way I did not destroy my Nikon P5000 :-P ... to be continued.
